Battle of Khe Sahn

Hoping to lure Communist Forces into believing they could repeat their win over the French at Dien Bien Phu, General William C. Westmoreland selected the Allied Base at Khe Sahn to provide the Communist a major battle target. Contrary to their hopes, Communist forces were severely decimated. The Battle of Khe Sahn succeeded in destroying the Viet Cong. The VC never again posed a serious threat after the Allied victory at Khe Sahn. Authorized for In-theatre service during the Operation Period.
