This Display Recognition is available ONLY to authorized recipients who possess orders, or authorization form, or release documentation that confirms award eligibility. (See "Issue Requirements"). To obtain either a Display or a Display Recognition for your authorized award you will be required to provide military-issued documentation authorizing your award. There are no exceptions. You must NOT submit a military issued document or photocopy that:

Coast Guard BiCentennial Award

The Coast Guard Bicentennial Unit Commendation was established on January 2, 1990, by Commandant of the Coast Guard Admiral J. William Kime for service between from June 4, 1989 to August 4, 1990. It is authorized to all Coast Guard members (including selected Reservists, civilians, and auxiliarists) who serving satisfactorily, but cannot be awarded to any individual whose entire service subsequent to June 4, 1989 was not honorable. Personnel of other services who were assigned to and served with the Coast Guard during this period were also eligible for the award. The ribbon to the Coast Guard Bicentennial Unit Commendation is worn after the Coast Guard "E" ribbon and before the Prisoner of War Medal. There are no devices are authorized for this ribbon.
