Skill Level is a numeric value assigned by the Army based on an enlisted (E1 through E9) soldier's ability to perform his or her Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) with or without a supervisor looking over his or her soldier. Skill Level ranges from 1 (a soldier needing constant supervision or oversight) to 5 (a soldier need no supervision or oversight). (Army officers are not assigned skill levels as their skill level is based on rank.)
